COMPS. JULY 8TH.
Forecast high winds did not arrive in the a.m. as predicted,
so Class A Texaco proceeded under
3/10ths. cloud. After lunch the wind
did indeed pick up, followed by a few spots of rain, but by
the time the last round of Antique Texaco was flown, conditions
were very good, with the wind dropping away to almost nothing for
the flyoff. Someone
suggested recently that we ”hobble”
Arnold Broese, but in light of today’s
results the focus could well shift to Mick Walsh! C/D Mike
Moore again conducted proceedings smoothly.

COMPS. July 22nd.
2007.
Contest Director Mike Moore
reported "9/10 cloud — moderate wind, & cool"
11 starters contested the open
Texaco, and the !/2 A Texaco field was
8 competitors with the
wind easing considerably - a splendid roll-up! Unfortunately,
judging from the results, it would seem that your recorder
is not the only one with depth perception
problems - Tony, I can recommend a great
Opthalmologist!

Two
comps. were to be held on this
day, but unfortunately, the weather turned nasty, and the
second comp. (Alllan
Mowat 2cc. Combined) had to be
abandoned before the first round was completed. However, Contest
Director Mike Moore successfully oversaw the Class “A” Duration
event. Conditions were, he says “cool, with moderate wind”.

Under the rules, the competing team is the first 3 flyers from
each club, and these results were duly submitted to last year’s
winning club, with the outcome (as seen on the bulletin board)
that SAM 84 came second to SAM 27 from Napa, California.
Congratulations, guys – apparently you only missed out on first
by 15 seconds!

date for that one. However, the first event, Stand
